Catalogue & Food Menu Seasonal Redesign

While working at Fibonacci Marketing we were contacted by Versilia Solutions Limited to tackle a design project. Our client was acting as a third party company for AirMalta.

The project required me to work on the sixth edition of AirMalta's in-flight magazine in conjunction with one of Versilia's employees. The magazine featured two separate sections consisting of a catalogue and a food menu.

Using the previous edition of the magazine as a guide I created some concepts to showcase to my client at our meeting. Agreeing on a design and a layout plan, we put the project in motion. My client prepared a Google sheet with the neccessary product information and any advertisments provided by the AirMalta company.

Presenting the layout and design idea to my client

Within a couple weeks of work using indesign, the catalogue section of the magazine was done. At this point I was working hand in hand with my client over software like Teamviewer and Skype on a daily basis making sure that every little detail was perfect.

Preparing for the second half of the magazine, we decided to create a set for the food and beverages served on the plane. This required involving a professional photographer provided by my client. Shortly after we assembled a meeting and I pitched my idea for the direction of the photoshoot. After some tweaking and brainstorming we were set on a plan and a date for a photoshoot.

We met at the designated photographer's studio and set up the food, beverages and props needed. On this day we were tasked with shooting photos for our front and back covers as well as most of the food menu's page layouts. As soon as I received the raw photos I started finalizing the design and sent the finished magazine to my client.

After a few final tweaks to some information and pricing, he passed it on to AirMalta. Happy with the final product, the magazine was exported to a print ready version and sent off to the printers.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to work on this magazine as it was one of my biggest projects and am really proud of the outcome. With the help of this project I developed my skills using Indesign and working in close proximity with a client over a prolonged period of time.
